Our Reception children exercise their right to a vote every day in Starfish class. Every child casts their vote for which story should be read at story time. Today they have learnt about the General Election and adults having a voice to effect change in the country.


Our choir performed a variety of Christmas songs today at Church Hill Square during their lunchtime period for all workers and visitors, well done to all!


Year 5 visited Crossroads COGS to perform a selection of Christmas songs & spent time interacting with the dementia sufferers and their carers. The trip enabled them to deepen their understanding of this life changing illness and to e perform their class song.


Year 1 took a trip to the local post box today, to post their hand written letters to Father Christmas. Each child took it in turn to post their letter and each made a wish as they posted it into the box. Fingers crossed for a quick reply!


All children are enjoying getting involved in our daily kindness challenge as part of our whole school advent calendar. Each morning children find out the challenge they need to achieve that day!


Preparations are well underway for this afternoons Christmas Fair, the children have been busy decorating the trees with their hand made decorations


Its starting to look a lot like Christmas! A huge thank you to the pupils at for performing their Pantomime 'Peter Pan' to the whole school today. The children had a great time!

Today we were visited by Olympic Swimmer who put the whole school through their paces with a variety of circuit sessions as part of our event, the children have all had a great time learning ways to keep fit!


Say Hello to our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors! Today a group of children have attended the Anti Bullying Ambassador Training and have been inspired with lots of fantastic ideas to bring back to school

Yr5 visited the Mayors Office to take part in a debate the about ‘is Democracy always a good thing’ and ‘should children be allowed to vote’. A huge thank you to the Cllr Jill Anderson for meeting with the children, they all had a great morning


Congratulations to our Basketball team on winning the tournament this week! We had amazing support from parents & siblings cheering on the side! It was a nail biting finish in the final game against St Katherines. We are over the moon to go on to the Kent County finals

We were absolutely delighted to welcome former Blue Peter presenter, & author for a fantastic talk about her book, 'Cookie & the Most Annoying Boy in the World'. She talked about the book & wrote & illustrated a short comic book story, with the help of the children!


The whole school have taken part in 'Marvellous Maths Day' where they explored different mathematical concepts through a chosen class text.They completed activities, which included making human graphs comparing shoe sizes to costing a pancake mixture from different supermarkets


Thank you to a local author, who came in today to inspire Dolphin Class with their creative writing and signed copies of her book for the children.


The whole school has taken part in the assembly in preparation for our fundraising event. The children learnt what they will be doing and how they can raise funds, we are now looking forward to our Athlete visit and Sponsored event in a couple of weeks time!


This morning every class took part in the This was a live workout with it certainly got the whole school energised and warm on a wet and cold day! Thank you to all of our families that donated to such a brilliant cause!


We are pleased to say that this week our gardening club has been awarded the Green Trees Silver School Award, well done to all of them for their continued hard work and enthusiasm

As part of our initiative to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle we no longer use disposable milk cartons. This term, with the help of Cool Milk, we have swapped to glass milk bottles along with reusable cups and the children are really enjoying pouring themselves fresh milk every day.


A circle time group held a discussion about encouragement & how it is good to encourage people around us of how well they are doing. The circle time group went around the classes to give children & adults a positive comment to encourage them to carry on with their hard work


As part of this years our children have taken part in a parade, attended the local Remembrance Service, learnt all about Jaqueline Cochran in assembly and carried out a 2 minutes silence at 11am


This afternoon the whole school was introduced to the strategic game of chess. Children learnt about the key concepts as well as the power pieces involved and Learn Chess are offering a lunchtime club for children


Whilst the rest of the school had an assembly our staff were treated to a short Pilates and yoga session run by Mrs Smith & Mrs Halls. Both adults are training in different well-being approaches that can be used to support our pupils and staff.

This week the children have learnt all about firework safety and the historical significance of the day. We hope that any families attending displays this week have a great time and stay safe!


Our new Playground Charter is now proudly on display to promote our respectful expectations for behaviour.


We had a special 'Daily Mile' assembly, reminding our children of the importance of keeping healthy as well as the rules associated with our Daily Mile initiative. Children will be trying to run the daily mile three times a week as part of our curriculum


Yr6 have had the most terrific WW2 experience! put the class through their paces as soldiers, then had to become evacuees & imagine how it would have felt to leave their homes during the war. They also learnt how to defuse bombs and how to carry out an evacuation

**NEWS FLASH** Stevie has been found! Our Maths frog Fredina, hid him as she wanted a turn at going home with someone. In Starfish we are all about love and understanding, so we could not stay cross with her for long. Stevie has invited her on an adventure for the holidays


On their return to the classroom after play, Starfish children discovered that their treasured Stevie Starfish is missing! Using the advice from PCSO's Tony & Wendy,the children set to work, hunting for clues & displaying their own missing posters around the school


Dolphin Class put on a fabulous assembly this week all about the Ancient Greek gods. They showcased their acting and singing skills in a wonderful spin on Well done, Year 5!


Yesterday Mrs Covey led a mathematics workshop on EYFS & KS1, sharing the calculation progression between the different year groups & then got the parents to learn alongside the pupils. Everyone involved showed off their mathematical talents and the buzz in the hall was amazing!

Starfish Class parents/carers enjoyed a stay and play session this morning, exploring a range of child initiated tasks in the classroom. It was great to see the children teaching their own family members in the outside areas. Thank you for supporting this wonderful adventure!


Thanks to Reverend Mark for delivering another thoughtful speech during our Harvest Assembly. He shared the importance of us being thankful this time of year but also about being aware of our own responsibility as both adults and children to protect the world.
