PE and Sport Funding

The purpose of the funding is to provide additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport for the benefit of primary-aged pupils to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles.

For the academic year 2015.16 the school’s allocation was £8,165

In 2015 to 2016 £2,090 was spent on providing a minibus and the balance on resources for the new school to encourage sport participation during break and lunch times.

Impact of Funding:

  • Allowed the new school to put in place a planned approach towards participation in inter-school competitions with an annual calendar of events for all children
  • Growing pupil participation in physical activity during lunch times

For the current academic year, the school’s allocation is £8,210; calculated as £8,000 plus £5 for every pupil in years 1 to 6 in the January 2016 census.

The school plans to continue to meet the cost of providing a minibus and providing resources and also to fund provide after school coaching to raise skills and tactical awareness; thereby improving success in competitions and in sport in general across the school
